We are still breathing ….
It was 1st of March evening the market was buzzing with people wanting to grab a piece of everything they can afford too. I was moving with my nose covered to get away from the stench of the fish market when I heard a kid bubbling with excitement scream out ”Hey, the fish was still breathing” the first thought that came into mind was how can a fish breath once out of water and what is there to be so great about it. I left the bazaar in a hurry and went to catch an auto to move straight way back home. The words kept ringing in my ears and suddenly I realized that isn’t it as surprising that we still are breathing. We have lost so many things in the last few years smell of the Dal to a gulp of fresh air . We are fighting for everything be it for the back seat of an auto or struggling with the EMIs of car loans but we are still fighting just to survive but are we really living if at all living doesn’t mean just breathing and multiplying alone. My everday travel to office is no less then a ‘Struggle’ he fight starts with the rickshaw pullers over change and ends with screaming at car drivers passing the crossings when pedestrians are supposed to cross. We have loosing it fast humanity is taking its last breath that’s what I get to see everyday in the newspapers and culture which says “ respect for women “ is somewhere lying dead or else why didn’t we feel safe on the roads even with our brothers ,fathers and husbands at our sides leave aside moving alone. What runs our youth are ‘reality shows ’and ‘shopping malls ‘ and don’t even care where we are heading towards maybe towards the end. We have lost the sanity that even a child has who was awed by the face that the fish is still breathing.
